3Spindleshanks

Spindleshanks American Bistro and Wine Bar represents the best of both old and new Lake Tahoe.

Its rustic building, which still evokes the feel of a traditional mountain lodge despite any incarnations, dates back to the days when Lake Tahoe mainly was accessible by steamship and train. Yet one look at it’s contemporary menu and extensive wine list and it’s clear that Spindleshanks is a restaurant for the 21st century.

Opened in 2000 by partners Steve Marks and Herman Schuchmann, Spindleshanks has become a Tahoe Vista, Calif., institution in a short amount of time. By offering regional American Cuisine and a variety of wines in a casual atmosphere, the pair created a dining experience that caters to both large families and couples seeking a romantic setting. 1. Come try The Bean Bar in Roundhill Village. We have made to order bagel sandwich Che’s for breakfast or lunch, fresh pastries made from scratch in house, free WiFi, plenty of indoor seating and lots of parking.
